MIDDLE SCHOOL

Antalya Toplum Koleji Lower Secondary School is a school affiliated with the Ministry of National Education, as well as an accredited school by Cambridge International Schools. Our school has 30% international students and 70% Turkish students. The academic and communication language used in our school is English.

Students take readiness exams at the beginning of each academic year, dividing their studies into levels in English, Turkish, and a second foreign language. English, Math, Science, Global Perspectives, Well-Being, ICT, and World History courses are taught in English.

It is important for our students to choose German or Russian as a second foreign language in addition to English and gain proficiency in these languages throughout their secondary school life.

Club activities enable our students to work in social and scientific fields of interest.

Like many Cambridge International schools around the world, Antalya Community College students take the Cambridge International Checkpoint Exam in English, Mathematics and Science at the end of 6th and 8th grades.

With these exams, it is aimed for them to better understand their strengths and weaknesses before moving on to the next stage in their education.

The application and evaluation of the exams are done by Cambridge and the exams are evaluated by Cambridge and score reports are sent to our school.

Guardians' Responsibilities

Dear Guardians,
As Antalya Toplum Koleji, we request your full and continuous support from our parents in order to ensure that our students receive a better quality education and we thank you for your sensitivity.

Our school begins at 9:00 a.m. Therefore, we strongly request that parents of students who do not use the school bus ensure that they arrive at least 10 minutes early. Students arriving late disrupt both their own learning and that of other students in their class. Students who become habitually late, for whatever reason, are both warned by us and subject to the criticism of their classmates. Students arriving late three times are marked absent for half a day.
• Students using school buses must be at the waiting area 2-3 minutes before the bus arrives.

If our student will not be able to come to school for any reason or will arrive late, please call the school or inform the administrators by e-mail. If our student is using a shuttle, please call the shuttle driver and give information. Inform the school about our students who will not get on the bus after school and will be picked up by someone else. In order not to be counted as unexcused absences, our parents should request in writing the permission they want to take for their children, except for emergencies.

Antalya Community College Secondary School students are required to attend classes with their uniforms. On the days when there are Physical Education classes, they should have their tracksuits and spare uniforms with them according to the weather conditions. Our students should be sent to school in a way that their attire is suitable for the school, their hair is clean and combed, and without exaggerated jewelry. In ceremonies and events, our students should be sent to school as notified to their parents.

Personal care of our students should be done completely and regularly. Particular attention should be paid to this issue, especially for students who have entered the age of puberty.

Our institutions expect parents to attend national holidays and other ceremonies, events, and seminars held at our schools. We strongly encourage our students to attend ceremonies, especially on national holidays, except in exceptional circumstances. According to Ministry of National Education regulations, we are not authorized to grant our students leave on national holidays, and our school absolutely expects our students to attend ceremonies. Therefore, parents should not request leave for their students on such days.

It is an element that will contribute to the education of our students by following the articles we send to you with our students, the information we send to your e-mail addresses, the messages sent to your mobile phones and the shares sent to the Parent Information System. You can also follow our website and social media posts to get information about the activities that are done or will be done at school.

Our school provides breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snacks for our students. Ensuring our students go to bed on time, especially during the week, is crucial for a productive day.

Our parents should keep the time that our students spend in front of the computer, especially in front of the computer, and the time they spend in front of the television. More importantly, parents should definitely check whether the games they play on the computer or the sites they visit, and the programs they watch on television are appropriate for their age. You can get detailed information about these issues in the guidance section.
